Edgar Chiu is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of SparkLabs Taipei, a startup accelerator and venture capital fund founded by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs with a vision and mission to help founders go global. SparkLabs Taipei offers a strategically designed mentorship-driven accelerator program to help founders grow and scale their startups into world-class businesses. Edgar is proud to be the first institutional investor in a majority of the portfolio companies, investing in startups in IoT (Internet of Things), Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, VR/AR, mobile applications, fintech, e-commerce, digital healthcare, cybersecurity, industrial automation, and other verticals.
Prior to SparkLabs Taipei, Edgar was the COO of Gogolook. There, he headed global partnerships for the Whoscall app, a global caller ID service, developing major partnerships in Japan, South Korea, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. He scaled the business to 8 countries in 1 year and led partnerships in telecom, banking, and logistics industries. In 2013, Gogolook was subsequently acquired by NAVER, the South Korean Internet Giant. Previously, Edgar worked at IBM as a management consultant. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Finance from National Tsing Hua University.
