Development economist Amanda Ellis is Executive Director Hawaii/Asia-Pacific for the ASU Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability and co-convenes the global WE Empower UN SDG Challenge for innovative entrepreneurs with a triple bottom line. She was most recently New Zealand Ambassador to the United Nations (Geneva) and Prime Minister’s Special Envoy, playing a key role in New Zealand’s successful UN Security Council bid. Previously, as Deputy Secretary (International Development) in the NZ Foreign Ministry she was first woman to lead the NZ Aid Programme, managing an annual budget of $0.6 billion.
