Ashley Lukens her PhD in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Originally from Houston, TX Ashley attended Vassar College where she graduated with a B.A. in women studies and economics. Presently she serves on the Board of Directors of Ergobaby and runs her own Philanthropic Consultancy with clients in Hawaii, Oregon, and California. From 2014-2019, Ashley led the Hawaii Center for Food Safety, successfully transforming the debate on pesticides and GMOs, resulting in the overhaul of state level pesticide regulations to better protect public health. Her passion project of the moment is called Project Thesis; a learning circle for women who want to see more capital in the hands of female-led businesses and organizations in Hawaii. Ashley is also the proud mom of a 11 year old daughter.
